అథ షడ్వింశస్సర్గః

శ్లో|| ప్రసక్తాశ్రుముఖీ త్యేవం బ్రువన్తీ జనకాత్మజా|
అధోముఖముఖీ బాలా విలప్తుముపచక్రమే||1||
ఉన్మత్తేవ ప్రమత్తేవ భ్రాన్తచిత్తేవ శోచతీ|
ఉపావృతా కిశోరీవ వివేష్ఠన్తీ మహీతలే||2||

స|| ప్రసక్తాశ్రుముఖీ బాలా జనకాత్మజా ఏవం బ్రువన్తీఅధోగతముఖీ విలప్తుం ఉపచక్రమే|| ఉన్మత్తేవ ప్రమత్తేవ భ్రాన్తచిత్తేవ శోచతీ ఉపావృతా కిశోరీ ఇవ మహీతలే వివేష్టంతీ||

With face filled with tears and down cast , the young lady who is Janaka's daughter began to cry. Like an intoxicated and bewildered person, like a worried person with distracted mind, she was wallowing on the ground like a female horse.

శ్లో|| రాఘవస్య ప్రమత్తస్య రక్షసా కామరూపిణా|
రావణేన ప్రమధ్యాఽహమానీతా క్రోశతీ బలాత్||3||
రాక్షసీ వశమాపన్నా భర్త్స్యమానా సుదారుణమ్|
చింతయన్తీ సుదుఃఖార్తా నాహం జీవితు ముత్సహే||4||
నహి మే జీవితైరర్థో నైవార్ధైర్న చ భూషణైః|
వసన్త్యా రాక్షసీ మధ్యే వినా రామం మహారథమ్|| 5||

స||రాఘవస్య ప్రమత్తస్య కామరూపిణా రక్షసా రావణేన ప్రమధ్యా క్రోశతీ అహం బలాత్ ఆనీతా|| రాక్షసీ వశం ఆపన్నాసుదారుణం భర్త్స్యమానా చింతయంతీ సుదూఃఖార్తా అహం జీవితుం న ఉత్సహే||వినా మహారథం రామం రాక్షసీ మధ్యే వసన్త్యా మే జీవితైః అర్థః న హి| న ఏవ అర్థైః న చ భూషణైః |

" When Raghava was away , I was brought forcibly while crying by Ravana, the Rakshasa who can take any form. Being under the control of the Rakshasis, dreadfully threatened , worrying and overcome with grief , I have no interest in living. Living among the Rakshasa women without the great charioteer Rama, there is no meaning for this life. Neither wealth nor the ornaments matter.

శ్లో|| అశ్మసార మిదం నూనం అథవా ప్యజరామరమ్|
హృదయం మమ యేనేదం న దుఃఖే నావశీర్యతే||6||
ధిజ్ఞ్మామనార్య మసతీం యా హం తేన వినాకృతా|
ముహూర్తమపి రక్షామి జీవితం పాప జీవితా||7||
కా చ మే జీవితా శ్రద్ధా సుఖేవా తం ప్రియం వినా|
భర్తారం సాగరాన్తాయాః వసుధాయాః ప్రియం వదమ్||8||

స||అథవా మమ ఇదం హృదయమ్ నూనం అశ్మసారం అజరామజరం అపి యేన దుఃఖేన అవసీర్యతే|| తేన వినా కృతా ముహూర్తం అపి జీవితం రక్షామి (తత్) అనార్యం |అహం పాపజీవితా అసతీం మామ్ ధిక్ || సాగరాంతాయాః వసుధాయాః భర్తారమ్ ప్రియంవదం తం వినా మే జీవితే స్సుఖేవా శ్రద్ధా కా?

"My heart is surely made of stone, or it has no age or death since it is not dispersed with grief. That without him I am protecting this life even for a moment is improper. I am an infidel, a woman of sinful life. Fie on me. What is the interest in pleasure or happiness in my life, without the sweet tongued Lord of the earth, which stretches up to the shores of the oceans.

శ్లో|| భిద్యతాం భక్ష్యతాం వాపి శరీరం విశృజామ్యహమ్|
న చాప్యహం చిరం దుఃఖం సహేయం ప్రియవర్జితా||9||
చరణే నాపి సవ్యేన న స్పృశేయం నిశాచరమ్|
రావణం కిం పునరహం కామయేయం విగర్హితమ్||10||
ప్రత్యాఖ్యాతం న జానాతి నాత్మానం నాత్మనః కులమ్|
యో నృశంస స్వభావేన మాం ప్రార్థయితుమిచ్ఛతి||11||
ఛిన్నా భిన్నా విభక్తా వా దీప్తే వాగ్నౌ ప్రదీపితా|
రావణం నోపతిష్ఠేయం కిం ప్రలాపేన వశ్చిరమ్||12||

స||అహం శరీరం విసృజామి | భిద్యతాం భక్ష్యతాం వా అపి ప్రియవర్జితా అహం చిర దుఃఖం న చ సహేయం|| అయం నిశాచరం విగర్హితాం రావణం చరణేన సవ్యేన అపి న స్పృశే|కిం పునః కామయే అయం? యః నృశంస భావేన మాం ప్రార్థయితుం ఇచ్ఛతి (సః) ఆత్మానం ప్రత్యాఖ్యాతంన జానాతి| ఆత్మనః కులం న ( జానాతి)|| ఛిన్నా వా భిన్నా దీప్తే అగ్నౌ ప్రదీపితా రావణమ్ నోపతిష్టేయం | చిరం విభక్తాః ప్రలాపేన కిమ్?||

"I will leave this body. Cut me to pieces, or eat me up. Without my dear husband, I cannot bear this sorrow for too long. I cannot touch the vile night roamer, Ravana even with my left foot. Where is the question of loving him. This man of cruel nature who wants to plead with me, he is not aware of his own loss of fame. Nor the loss of his family. Whether cut or broken into pieces, or burnt by fire I will not accept Ravana. What is the use of your raving so long".

శ్లో|| ఖ్యాతః ప్రాజ్ఞః కృతజ్ఞశ్చ సానుక్రోశశ్చ రాఘవః|
సద్వృత్తో నిరనుక్రోశః శఙ్కే మద్భాగ్య సంక్షయాత్||13||
రాక్షసానాం సహస్రాణి జనస్థానే చతుర్దశః|
యేనై కేన నిరస్తాని స మాం కిం నాభిపద్యతే||14||
నిరుద్ధా రావణే నాహం అల్పవీర్యేణ రక్షసా|
సమర్థః ఖలు మే భర్తా రావణం హన్తుమాహవే||15||
విరాధో దణ్డకారణ్యే యేన రాక్షస పుంగవః|
రణే రామేణ నిహతః స మాం కిం నాభిపద్యతే||16||

స|| రాఘవః ఖ్యాతః ప్రాజ్ఞః కృతజ్ఞః సద్వృత్తః చ | సః అనుక్రోశః మద్భాగ్యసంక్షయాత్ నిరనుక్రోశః శఙ్కే || యేన ఏకేన జనస్థానే చతుర్దశః సహస్రాణి రాక్షసానాం నిరస్తాని సః మాం కిం న అభిపద్యతే||అహం ఆల్పవీర్యేణ రక్షసా రావణేన నిరుద్ధా మే భర్తా ఆహవే రావణం హంతుం సమర్థః ఖలు|| యేన దణ్డకారణ్యే రణే రాక్షసపుంగవః విరాధః నిహతః సః మాం కిం న అభిపద్యతే||

"Raghava is renowned as wise grateful and well behaved. I doubt that kind hearted one due to my misfortune became pitiless. The one who killed fourteen thousand Rakshasas in Janasthana , why is he not protecting me? I am held captive by this Rakshasa of inferior valor. My husband is surely capable of killing Ravana in a battle. The one who killed Viradha the bull among Rakshasa in a fight in the Dandaka forest, why is he not protecting me.

శ్లో|| కామం మధ్యే సముద్రస్య లఙ్కేయం దుష్ప్రధర్షణా|
న తు రాఘవ బాణానాం గతిరోధీ హ విద్యతే||17||
కిన్ను తత్కారణం యేన రామో ధృఢ పరాక్రమః|
రక్షసాపహృతాం భార్యా మిష్టాం నాభ్యవపద్యతే||18||

స||సముద్రస్య మధ్యే ఇయం లఙ్కా దుష్ప్రధర్షణా తు రాఘవబాణానాం గతిరోధః న భవిష్యతి|| తత్ కారణం కిం ను యేన దృఢపరాక్రమః రామః రక్షసా అపహృతాం భార్యా ఇష్టాం న అభ్యవపద్యతే||

Though this Lanka in the middle of the sea is impregnable, nothing can resist Rama's arrows. What is the reason because of which the highly powerful Rama is not able to reach his dear wife abducted by the Rakshasa?

శ్లో|| ఇహస్థాం మాం న జానీతే శఙ్కే లక్ష్మణ పూర్వజః|
జానన్నపి హి తేజస్వీ ధర్షణం మర్షయిష్యతి||19||
హృతేతి యోఽధిగత్వా మాం రాఘవాయ నివేదయేత్ |
గృధరాజోఽపి స రణే రావణేన నిపాతితః||20||
కృతం కర్మ మహత్తేన మాం తథాఽభ్యవపద్యతా|
తిష్ఠతా రావణద్వన్ద్వే వృద్ధేనాపి జటాయుషా||21||

స|| లక్ష్మణ పూర్వజః మాం ఇహస్థాం న జానీతే శంకే| జానన్ అపి తేజస్వీ ధర్షణం మర్షయిష్యతి|| యః అధిగత్వా హృతః ఇతి రాఘవాయ నివేదయత్ సః గృధరాజః అపి రావణేన రణే నిపాతితః||మామ్ తథా అభ్యవపద్యతా వృద్ధేనాపి రావణద్వంద్వే తిష్ఠతా తేన జటాయుషా మహత్ కర్మ కృతమ్||

"Probably the elder brother of Lakshmana does not know that I am here. If he knew would that glorious one tolerate this outrageous act. That king of vultures knows that I am abducted and hence can tell Rama. But that one has been killed by Ravana in the fight. That Jatayu, who though old, stood by me in the duel with Ravana, did a great help".

శ్లో|| యది మా మిహ జానీయాత్ వర్తమానం స రాఘవః|
అద్య బాణై రభిక్రుద్ధః కుర్యాల్లోకమరాక్షసమ్||22||
విధమేచ్ఛ పురీం లఙ్కాం శోషయేచ్ఛ మహోదధిమ్|
రావణస్య చ నీచస్య కీర్తిం నామ చ నాశయేత్||23||

స||సః రాఘవః మాం ఇహ వర్తమానం జానీయాత్ యది అభికృద్ధః లోకం బాణైః అద్య అరాక్షసం కుర్యాత్ || లఙ్కాం పురీం విధమేచ్ఛ మహోదధిం శోషమేచ్ఛనీచస్య రావణస్య కీర్తిం నామ చ నాశయేత్||

If that Rama knows that I am here , then being angry he would have made this world free of Rakshasas. He will blow away the city of Lanka. He will drain the oceans. He will destroy the name and fame of that evil Ravana.

శ్లో|| తతో నిహతా నాధానాం రాక్షసీనాం గృహే గృహే|
యథా హమేవం రుదతీ తదా భూయో నసంశయః||24||
అన్విష్య రక్షసాం లఙ్కాం కుర్యాద్రామః సలక్ష్మణః|
న హి తాభ్యాం రిపుర్దృష్టో ముహూర్తమపి జీవతి||25||

స|| తతః అహం యథా ఏవం రుదతీ తథా గృహే గృహే నిహత నాథానాం రాక్షసీనాం భూయః న సంశయః||సలక్ష్మణః రామః రక్షసాం లఙ్కాం అన్విష్య కుర్యాత్ తాభ్యాం దృష్టః రిపుః ముహూర్తం అపి న జీవతి హి ||

I see Rakshasa women who lost their husbands crying in every house like me. I have no doubt. If only Rama along with Lakshmana reach this Lanka, the enemies cannot stand in their sight even for a moment.

శ్లో|| చితాధూమాకులపథా గృధమణ్డల సంకులా |
అచిరేణ తు లఙ్కేయం శ్మశాన సదృశీభవేత్||26||
అచిరేణైవ కాలేన ప్రాప్స్యామ్యేవ మనోరథమ్|
దుష్ప్రస్థానోఽయ మాఖ్యాతి సర్వేషాం వో విపర్యయమ్||27||

స|| ఇయం లఙ్కా అచిరేణ చితాధూమకులపథా గృథమండల సంకులా శ్మశాన సదృశీ భవేత్|| అచిరేణ కాలేన మనోరథం ప్రాప్స్యమేవ | అయం దుష్ప్రస్థానః సర్వేషాం వః విపర్యయమ్ ఆఖ్యాతి|

This Lanka will soon be like a cremation ground with its streets covered with smoke , with vultures flying around. Very soon my desire will be fulfilled. The bad behavior of all of you, indicates a reversal of fate.

శ్లో|| యాదృశా నీహ దృశ్యంతే లఙ్కాయా మశుభాని వై|
అచిరేణ తు కాలేన భవిష్యతి హతప్రభా||28||
నూనం లఙ్కా హతే పాపే రావణే రాక్షసాధమే|
శోషం యాస్యతి దుర్ధర్షా ప్రమదా విధవా యథా||29||
పుణ్యోత్సవసముత్థా చ నష్టభర్త్రీ స రాక్షసీ|
భవిష్యతి పురీ లంకా నష్టభర్త్రీ యథాఽఙ్గనా||30||

స|| ఇహ లంకాయాం యాదృశాని అశుభాని దృశ్యంతే అచిరేణైవ కాలేన (లఙ్కా) హతప్రభా భవిష్యతి|| పాపే రాక్షసాధమే రావణే హతే దుర్ధర్షా లఙ్కా నూనం విధవా ప్రమదా యథా శోషం యాస్యతి|| పుణ్యోత్సవ సముత్థా లంకాపురీ నష్టభర్త్రీ నష్టభర్త్రీ అఙ్గనా యథా భవిష్యతి ||

In this Lanka such inauspicious signs are seen that very soon Lanka will lose its splendor. When the mean sinner, the Rakshasa Ravana is killed , this impregnable Lanka will wither away like a widow. Along with Rakshasa women, the city of Lanka which had many auspicious celebrations, having lost the king, will remain like a woman with the death of her husband.

శ్లో|| నూనం రాక్షసకన్యానాం రుదన్తీనాం గృహే గృహే|
శ్రోష్యామి న చిరాదేవ దుఃఖార్తానా మిహ ధ్వనిమ్||31||
సాన్ధకారా హతద్యోతా హత రాక్షసపుఙ్గవా|
భవిష్యతి పురీ లఙ్కా నిర్దగ్ధా రామసాయకైః||32||

స|| న చిరాదేవ ఇహ గృహే గృహే దుఃఖార్తానాం రుదన్తీనాం రాక్షసకన్యానాం ధ్వనిం నూనం శ్రోష్యామి|| లఙ్కాపురీ రామసాయకైః నిర్దగ్ధా స అన్ధకారా హతద్యోతా హతరాక్షసపుఙ్గవా భవిష్యతి ||

Very soon, I will surely hear the sounds of distressful cries of Rakshasa women from every house. The city of Lanka will be totally burnt, filled with darkness losing its splendor. All the Rakshasa warriors will be killed by the arrows of Rama.

శ్లో|| యది నామ స శూరో మాం రామో రక్తాన్తలోచనః|
జానీయాద్వర్తమానాం హి రావణస్య నివేశనే||33||
అనేన తు నృశంసేన రావణే నాధమేన మే|
సమయో యస్తు నిర్దిష్టః తస్యకాలోఽయమాగతః||34||
స చ మే విహితో మృత్యురస్మిన్ దుష్టే న వర్తతే|

స|| యది రక్తాంతలోచనః సః రామః రావణస్య నివేశనే వర్తమానాం యది నామ జానీయాత్ | నృశంసేన అధమేన అనేన రావణేన యః సమయః మే నిర్దిష్టః తస్యఅయం కాలః ఆగతః| మేవిహితః సః మృత్యుః అస్మిన్ దుష్టేన వర్తతే||

If only the heroic Rama with blood shot eyes knows that I am in the Ravana's palace. The time limit been set by this lowly person Ravana, has now arrived. The death fixed for me by this vile person why not impinge on him.

శ్లో|| అకార్యం యే న జానన్తి నైరృతాం పాపకారిణః|
అధర్మాత్తు మహోత్పాతో భవిష్యతి హి సాంప్రతమ్ ||35||
నైతే ధర్మం విజానన్తి రాక్షసాః పిశితాశనాః|

స|| పాపకారిణః యే నైర్రుతాః అకార్యం న జానన్తి | అధర్మాత్ సంప్రాప్తం మహోత్పాతః భవిష్యతి |పిశితాశనాః ఏతే రక్షసాః ధర్మం న విజానన్తి ||

These sinners do not know the forbidden acts. Due to improper acts great calamities will happen. These flesh eating Rakshasas do not know righteous conduct.

శ్లో|| ధ్రువం మా ప్రాతరాశార్థే రాక్షసః కల్పయిష్యతి||36||
సాఽహం కథమ్ కరిష్యామి తం వినా ప్రియదర్శనమ్|
రామం రక్తాన్తనయనం అపస్యన్తీ సుదుఃఖితా||37||

స|| రాక్షసః ధ్రువం మాం ప్రాతరాశార్థే కల్పయిష్యతి | సా అహం ప్రియదర్శనమ్ తం వినా కథం కరిష్యామి | రక్తాన్తనయనమ్ రామం అపశ్యన్తీ సుదుఃఖితా||

These Rakshasas will definitely make a morning meal of me. What can I do without the Rama who is pleasing to the eyes. Unable to see the one with reddish tinge in his eyes I am distressed very much.

శ్లో|| యది కశ్చిత్ప్రదాతామే విషస్యాద్య భవేదిహ|
క్షిప్రం వైవస్వతం దేవం పశ్యేయం పతినా వినా||38||
నా జానా జ్జీవతీం రామః స మాం లక్ష్మణపూర్వజః|
జానంతౌ తౌ న కుర్యాతాం నోర్వ్యాం హి మమ మార్గణమ్||39||

స|| అద్య మే విషస్య ప్రదాతా కశ్చిత్ ఇహ భవేత్ యది పతినా వినా క్షిప్రం దేవం వైవస్వతం పశ్యేయమ్||లక్ష్మణపూర్వజః సః రామః మామ్ జీవతీం నాజానాత్ తౌ జానంతౌ మమ మార్గణం ఉర్వ్యామ్ న కుర్యతామ్ ఇతి న||

If there is a person who can give poison is here, I am ready to see the Lord of death without my lord . That Rama the elder brother of Lakshmana does not know that I am living . If they knew they would not have left searching all over.

శ్లో|| నూనం మమైవ శోకేన స వీరో లక్ష్మణాగ్రజః|
దేవలోక మితోయాతః త్యక్త్వా దేహం మహీపతే||40||
ధన్యా దేవాః సగన్ధర్వాః సిద్ధాశ్చపరమర్షయః|
మమ పశ్యన్తి యే నాథం రామం రాజీవ లోచనమ్||41||
అథవా కిన్ను తస్యార్థో ధర్మకామస్య ధీమతః|
మయా రామస్య రాజర్షేర్భార్యయా పరమాత్మనః||42||

స|| వీరః లక్ష్మణాగ్రజః సః మమ శోకేనైవ మహీతలే దేహం త్యక్త్వా ఇతః దేవలోకం యాతః నూనం|| మమ నాథం రాజీవలోచనమ్ రామం యే పశ్యన్తి దేవాః సగన్ధర్వాః సిద్ధాశ్చ పరమర్షయః ధన్యాః||అథవా ధర్మకామస్య ధీమతః రాజర్షేః పరమాత్మనః తస్య రామస్య భార్యయా మయా అర్థః న హి||

The heroic elder brother of Lakshmana may have left his body on the earth in distress , and surely went to the abode of gods. Seeing my husband who has eyes like that of lotus petals, the gods along with the Gandharvas, Siddhas and the great sages will be blessed. Or else the wise one ever seeking dharma, the royal sage , the supreme self has lost interest in me, his wife.

శ్లో|| దృశ్యమానే భవేత్ప్రీతిః సౌహృదం నాస్త్యపశ్యతః|
నాశయంతి కృతఘ్నాస్తు న రామో నాశయిష్యతి||43||
కిం ను మే నగుణాః కేచిత్ కింవా భాగ్యక్షయో మమ|
యాsహం సీదామి రామేణ హీనా ముఖ్యేన భామినీ||44||
శ్రేయో మే జీవితాన్ మర్తుం విహీనయా మహాత్మనః|
రామాదక్లిష్ట చారిత్రాత్ శూరాత్ శత్రునిబర్హణాత్||45||

స|| దృశ్యమానే ప్రీతిః భవేత్ అపశ్యతః సౌహృదం నాస్తి| కృతఘ్నాః నాశయంతి రామస్తు న నాశయిష్యతి|| భామినీ యా అహం ముఖ్యేన రామేణ వినా సీదామి మేకేచిత్ గుణాః న కిం ను | కిం వా మమ భాగ్యక్షయః ( అబహవత్)||
స|| అక్లిష్టచారిత్రాత్ శూరాత్ శత్రునిబర్హణాత్ మహాత్మనః రామాత్ విహీనాయాః మే జీవితాత్ మర్తుం శ్రేయః||

When one keeps seeing love will happen. If you do not see, even friendship does not last. For the ungrateful one's love perishes. Rama's love will not perish. A charming lady that I am , and that I am able to live without Rama , does it mean that some qualities are not in me? Is my fortune diminished? It is better for me to die instead of living separated from the great soul Rama who is of blemish less character, who is heroic, who can destroy his enemies.

శ్లో|| అథవా న్యస్తశస్త్రౌ తౌ వనే మూలఫలాశినౌ|
భ్రాతరౌ హి నరశ్రేష్టౌ సంవృతౌ వనగోచరౌ||46||
అథవా రాక్షసేన్ద్రేణ రావణేన దురాత్మనా|
ఛద్మనా ఘాతితౌ శూరౌ భ్రాతరౌ రామలక్ష్మణౌ||47||
సాఽహమేవం గతే కాలే మర్తు మిచ్ఛామి సర్వథా|
న చ మే విహితో మృత్యు రస్మిన్ దుఃఖేఽపి వర్తతి||48||

స|| అథవా నరశ్రేష్ఠౌ తౌ భ్రాతరౌ న్యస్త శస్త్రౌ వనే మూలఫలాసినౌ వనగోచరౌ సంవృతౌ|| అథవా శూరౌ భ్రాతరౌ రామలక్ష్మణౌ దురాత్మనా రాక్షసేంద్రేణ రావణేన ఛద్మనా ఘాతితౌ|| ఏవం గతే కాలే సా అహం సర్వథా మర్తుం ఇచ్ఛామి | అస్మిన్ దుఃఖే అపి మే మృత్యుః విహితః న వర్తతే||

Or may be those two brothers, best among men , laid down their arms and are roaming the forest as ascetics living on fruits and roots. Or maybe the two heroic brothers would have been killed by that cruel deceptive Ravana. In these circumstances by all means I wish to die. In this sorrow even the death seems to be not possible.

శ్లో|| ధన్యాః ఖలు మహాత్మానో మునయః త్యక్త కిల్బిషాః|
జితాత్మానో మహాభాగా యేషాం న స్తః ప్రియాప్రియే||49||
ప్రియాన్న సంభవేత్ దుఃఖం అప్రియాదధికం భయం|
తాభ్యాం హి యే నియుజ్యంతే నమస్తేషాం మహాత్మనామ్||50||

స|| మహాత్మనః త్యక్తకిల్బిషాః జితాత్మనః మహాభాగాః మునయః ధన్యాః ఖలు యేషామ్ ప్రియా అప్రియే న స్తః|| ప్రియాత్ దుఃఖం అప్రియాత్ అధికం భయం న సంభవేత్ యే తాభ్యాం వియుజ్యంతే తేషాం మహాత్మనాం నమః||

Great men who have given up all sins, the exalted ones who have won over the Self, the sages are indeed blessed . For them the pleasure or displeasure does not exist. Sorrow from pleasing act , or fear from unpleasant act does not happen to them. Those who have distanced themselves from these dualities are great souls. Salutations to them.

శ్లో|| సాఽహం త్యక్తా ప్రియార్హేణ రామేణ విదితాత్మనా |
ప్రాణాం స్త్యక్ష్యామి పాపస్య రావణస్య గతా వశమ్||51||

స|| ప్రియేణైవ విదితాత్మనా రామేణ త్యక్తా పాపస్య రావణస్య వశమ్ గతా సా అహం ప్రాణాం తక్ష్యామి ||

Separated from Rama who is a realized self, being under the control of the sinner Ravana, I shall give up this life.

ఇత్యార్షే శ్రీమద్రామాయణే ఆదికావ్యే వాల్మీకీయే
చతుర్వింశత్ సహస్రికాయాం సంహితాయామ్
శ్రీమత్సుందరకాండే షడ్వింశస్సర్గః||

Thus ends the twenty sixth Sarga of Sundarakanda in Ramayana the first ever poem composed by the first poet sage Valmiki.
